“He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning”. (Daniel 2:21)
These days, what are you asking the Lord? Do you pray for a mansion to live in or a fancy new car or the downfall of your enemy? The Bible records what King Solomon asked the Lord when he was given the opportunity to ask anything that he desired. “Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead your people, for who is able to govern these great people of yours?”- This is what King Solomon asked the Lord.
After the second world war, Germany was in shambles. However, then came the economic miracle. The brain behind this was Chancellor Adenauer. What was the secret and how did it begin? One day, the chancellor attended the Catholic mass and was warmly greeted by the children. It came as a surprise to many, and so the media posed this question to him. They asked him how he could attend church service at 8:00 am when he was with the press until 2:00 am? To this, he replied, “God first, everything else is secondary.” He successfully led the country and brought a tremendous economic revival.
SCRIPTURE to LIFE
When you seek the Lord and give Him first place in your life, He will exalt you before nations. If you find yourself stuck in any area of your life, then pray to God Almighty and ask for wisdom and understanding, As the scripture says, “Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you” (Proverbs 4:6-7). Godly wisdom will help you to make wise decisions in all critical situations. So, seek divine wisdom and understanding more than anything else.
Prayer:
Blessed Lord, I seek divine wisdom and understanding more than anything else. Lavish her upon me, Lord. Grant me Your grace to seek your presence always, irrespective of my circumstances.
