Suffering In Silence
Often times we murmur for petty issues that we face in our day-to-day life. We complain, we crib and show contempt towards the person who puts us through difficult times. Even when we walk in ways that are pleasing to our Lord, we may fail to endure certain type of inflections that people pose at us. During such times, we need to renew our strength from our Lord and bring to our thought, the sufferings that our Lord Jesus endured. “…as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth.” (Isaiah 53:7). The name “Jesus” alone is able to give you life and resurrection. Why do the words of Jesus have the power to forgive sins, bring healing and resurrect someone? It is because “Jesus” suffered and was oppressed because of taking all our burdens upon Him. To bring healing to the sick, restoration of relationships, families and physical bodies, Jesus was wounded on the cross.
One of the greatest qualities of Jesus was portrayed from His cross. He was brutally tortured and humiliated. While enduring all His sufferings, He never opened His mouth to complain. He did not cry out, “It’s paining” nor did He ever look to any man crying, “Somebody save me! I am punished unjustly.” He never did want to argue or stir up a public opinion. He never uttered a word! He bore every suffering for mankind very silently and patiently. “He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:2). His sacrifice is for the whole world. That’s why His word has power today. Even now His word has the power to relieve you from all your pains. Only a word from Him can remove the sin, sickness and death of this world and give us life.
