As pure as gold – Shilpa Dhinakaran

“But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.” (Job 23:10)
Dear friend, God’s Word for you for today is from Job 23:10, “But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.” You might be going through various kinds of tests and trials in your life and you might be wondering, “Lord, I am doing everything right, I am being righteous but why am I facing so much of troubles?”, but according to God’s promise you will come forth as gold. The Bible says in Proverbs 3:12, “because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.” What a wonderful truth!

The Lord loves us so much just like His children so He corrects us. I remember reading a story of Amy Carmichael. She once took all the children in her orphanage to visit a goldsmith. The children saw how the goldsmith refined the gold. Everytime he will check if it has been refined and if not he will put it again inside the fire. The next time he puts it in the fire, the fire will be hotter than before. Its temperature will be much higher than before. Until the goldsmith could see his reflection on the gold he used to refine it again and again.
That’s how the Lord tests us too. He wants us to be as pure as Him. The Bible says in James 1:2,3, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” So don’t worry if you are going through tests and trials today. The Lord loves you so much that’s why He is allowing you to go through it. He wants the world to see that you are His child. Just hold on to God and He will surely bring you out of it. The Lord always gives us tests and trials only to the extent we can handle. So don’t get worried. At the right time, the Lord will rescue you.
Prayer:
Loving Father,

I am facing lots of tests and trials for Your name’s sake. I am glad to bear it for Your sake. Give me grace to be patient and endure through it not giving up. I believe I will see Your light shining through this darkness. Rescue me today. Help me to come forth as pure as You.

In Jesus’ precious name, I pray. Amen.
