Glory from Brokenness – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

“He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him” (Isaiah 53:2).
Our God is the Rose of Sharon, radiant and ruddy and outstanding among ten thousand (Song of Songs 2:1; 5:10).  However, on the Cross, He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.  Like one from whom people hide their faces, He was despised, and we held Him in low esteem (Isaiah 53:3).  Yes, Jesus lost all of His beauty on the Cross.  It’s all because He took our sin, shame and reproach on the Cross.

Once, a servant of God who was very handsome went to a foreign country to do God’s ministry. Proportionate to his faithfulness, he was blessed abundantly and his ministry flourished in that country.  As days went by, out of jealousy, his own people poked and mocked him giving thorns of pain and sorrow.  They even became hindrance for his ministry.  It happened for us to visit this particular servant of God in his place.  We were shocked at his appearance which was beyond identification.  Upon enquiry, we learnt that his body was disfigured and lost its beauty because of what all the jealous people inflicted on him and his ministry with their words and actions.

Beloved, the Bible says, “He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him” (Isaiah 53:2).  Are you worried that everyone hates you in your family?  Are you discouraged by your looks? Has worry taken a toll on your body?  Do you say that none can understand what you are undergoing?  Jesus can understand you very well.  Not only that He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13).  He will bring you out of the shame and suffering that you are undergoing for no reason.  He will turn your brokenness into blessing.  For the very same, He died on the Cross! Do not waver in your faith upon Him for in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us (Romans 8:37).  God will weave a beautiful message from all your mess.  He will prepare a table before your enemies (Psalm 23:6).  He will make everything beautiful in His time.

Prayer:
Dear Lord,

I am tired of facing constant pressure from all sides.  For no mistake on my part, I am trampled under everyone’s feet.  I sometimes hate living my life.  Lord, please increase my faith and patience to endure this pain.  As you defeated all the enemies who stood against the Israelites, give me strength to overcome all my enemies.  Take me from glory to glory.  Until I see the light, give me strength to stand on Your flawless promises.

In Jesus Name I pray, amen.
