Refuge for a thousand generations – Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran

“Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.” (Psalm 90:1)
Dearly beloved friend, the Lord will be a refuge to you. In Psalm 90:1, “Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations,” we see the prayer of Moses. Because He is our refuge we have to dedicate our generation to serve the Lord. David dedicated his generation to serve the Lord. Prophetically he says this in Psalm 22:30, 31, “Our children will also serve him. Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord. His righteous acts will be told to those not yet born. They will hear about everything he has done.” He makes a faith confession that his descendants and their descendants will serve God.

David says, “The next generation will be told about the Lord. They will come and proclaim God’s righteousness to a generation yet unborn.” He did this so that even the children yet to be born will have God’s righteousness. He did not know that Jesus will be born in his lineage. But he prophetically dedicated even Jesus to serve the people. That’s why the Israelites called Jesus as the Son of David. In Matthew 9:27, we see how two blind men shout saying, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” The Canaanite woman also cried out to the Lord saying, “Have mercy on me O Lord, Son of David.”
May the Lord take your generation also in His hand and make them to serve the Lord. From now on, let us learn to dedicate our children to the Lord. Even my mother dedicated me to serve the Lord. She fasted every Friday and prayed just for me. Because of her prayers today I am serving the Lord. May the Lord be a refuge to you and to your generations. “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.” (Deuteronomy 7:9) So may you and your generations minister for the Lord.  May the Lord save your children and your family members.
Prayer:
Loving Father,

Remember my loved ones and save them. Write their names on the book of life and save them by Your mercy. Transform them by Your love. Give me an open door to serve You and minister for You. Let my descendants and their descendants for a thousand generations serve You and experience Your unfailing love.

In Jesus’ precious name, I pray. Amen.
