You are precious to God! – Samuel Dhinakaran
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”. (Philippians 4:6)
In the Bible we read, Jesus mentions the need to only pray and not to worry. Jesus, said, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes” (Luke 12: 22,23). Jesus exhorted the disciples to consider the ravens. These birds do not sow seed, harvest crops, or own structures for storing food. Nevertheless, they do not suffer want, for “God feeds them.” Through God’s providential care, the birds are able to find food. “By worrying, who among you,” asked Jesus, “can add a single hour to his life span?” (Matthew 6:27). As God has so beautifully arrayed the short-lived blooms of common flowers, would He not much more so clothe you especially since you are very precious to Him? Jesus referred to the disciples as those of little faith, suggesting that they tended to worry despite the abundant evidence of His Father’s providential care for the creation (Luke 12:27, 28).
Worry does not come from God. When you are tempted to worry shift your attention to the Word of God. Yes, there are so many things that we need each day and that is why Jesus said each day has enough trouble of its own (Matthew 6:34). Does that mean you can worry about today? No! God wants you to live your life to the fullest. He wants you to seek Him in the morning (Psalm 63:1) for your concerns for the day and then see Him work on your behalf throughout the day. Don’t put your mind in a problem-conscious state rather become God-conscious and wait on Him to provide for you. You should live like the birds which look to God for provision. If God remembers to feed even the sparrows how will he forget you for whom He bled and died?
My friends, according to the scriptures, God’s desire is that you don’t worry about anything, but place your trust in the Lord. Just like the flora and fauna are so care-free about food and clothes, you have to believe in the divine providence, because you are created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:27). The Bible also advises, that you cast your burdens on the Lord (1 Peter 5:7). This is what, you should do from now on, place all your worries regarding your future, education and family on the Lord and pray to Him for all your needs, for He is a God who listens to your prayers (Psalm 65:2). Whenever, you pray to Him, He will never hide his face from you (Psalm 22:24). And, when you cry to Him, He will certainly listen to your cry (Psalm 72:12). Hence, when you pray to Him sincerely, He will hear your prayer and will certainly help you.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding me of your love that You have showed by dying on the cross to meet all needs be it forgiveness, health or blessings. You love me more than the sparrows which you faithfully take care. How much more will You answer me and provide what I need! Lord, I put my trust in Your provision completely and I will wait to see Your grace do miracles for me. Make me a testimony of Your Fatherly care.
In Jesus Name I ask this prayer,
Amen.
