Victory through the Cross! – Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God and afflicted.” (Isaiah 53:4)
Yes! Our Lord Jesus Christ bore our sins and allowed Himself to be crucified on the cross, so that our burdens and sufferings may be taken away and we may have a blessed and prosperous life. The Bible tells clearly how much of pain and agony He underwent. First, they whipped Him one less than forty times on His back and His body was bruised. Then, they put a crown of on His head and it began to bleed. Finally, they nailed His hands and feet to the cross. Oh! What an agony and pain it would have been! All these terrible torture were borne by Him so that, “we might live through Him” (1 John 4:9). What is the blessing we get from this? Yes! In all these things we are more conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:36,37). We should never forget that He died to give us a victorious life. Whatever happens, let us lose heart! Always look at the cross! Victory is ours.

Once, there lived a family where there was no love and affection. Because of this, the family members often quarrelled and fought with each other. There was always a fear lurking that somebody might even commit a murder. However, in that quarrelling family, there was one girl who read the verse given above and believed it with all her heart. She prayed, “Lord, according to the promise verse, you are the only one who can take away all the quarrels, hatred and bitterness in this family; and I believe You will change everything in this house and bring Your divine peace amidst us.” She continued to pray like this many times in a day. One day God heard her prayer. He touched the lives of her family members one after another. He took away the heart of out of them and gave them a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26). He also filled every one of them with His Holy Spirit. Because God bore the grief and carried the sorrows of His children, divine peace and joy came into that family.

Yes! My dearly beloved, He is ever ready to take on Him all your afflictions and tribulations and give   divine peace and happiness. Believe in this promise today and receive His blessings (Colossians 1:20).

Prayer:
My Precious Redeemer!

How greatly You were wounded and bruised on the cross! You bore on Your body all my griefs and sorrows. Thank You Father for this immeasurable sacrifice. Today and forever, You fill me with Your divine peace and bless me.

In Jesus’ matchless name I pray, AMEN.
